Why this exists

Most people have never had their investment portfolio looked at by anyone. You open a brokerage app, buy a few things you heard about, and then just… hope. There's no report card, no second opinion, no one to tell you that 60% of your money is quietly riding on a single stock.

Clock My Stock is our attempt to fix that in the least intimidating way possible: paste in what you own, get an honest (and slightly brutal) letter grade in about thirty seconds. It looks at the structure of your portfolio — how concentrated it is, whether it's diversified, how your money is split across asset classes, and whether you're accidentally doubling down on the same thing in three different funds.

Who makes this

We're the people behind Money Unlocked, a personal-finance and investing education project. Our whole thing is taking the stuff that finance likes to keep dense and gatekept and making it clear, useful, and occasionally funny. This tool is that mission in a single page.

What we believe

• Education beats advice. We'll show you how your portfolio compares to common frameworks and explain the principles — but we won't tell you what to buy. That's a decision for you and, if you want one, a licensed professional.
• Your data is yours. The grader runs entirely in your browser. The holdings you type or upload are never sent to a server, never stored, and never sold. There are no accounts.
• Honesty is the feature. A grader that tells everyone they're doing great is useless. If your portfolio is a mess, we'll say so — kindly-ish.

How it stays free

The core report card is free and always will be. We may earn a commission if you use a partner link (for example, to open a brokerage account or get matched with an advisor), and the site may display ads. None of that changes your grade or what we tell you — the grading rules are the same for everyone.
