Privacy Policy

The free grader stays on your device. Grading a portfolio runs entirely in your browser. The holdings, tickers, and dollar amounts you enter are processed locally and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers — unless you choose to sign in and save a grade (see below), which only happens if you explicitly opt in.

What we collect

Portfolio inputs (free tool): nothing leaves your browser when you grade a portfolio. We don't receive, log, or store the holdings you enter unless you sign in and save.
Local storage: we save one small flag in your browser to remember that you acknowledged the educational disclaimer, so you aren't asked every time. You can clear it any time via your browser settings.
Account & saved grades (optional, paid Save & Compare feature): if you sign in, we use Supabase to manage your account (email address, via passwordless magic-link sign-in — we never see or store a password) and, on subscribing, your subscription status and Stripe customer ID. If you click "Save this grade," that specific grade — letter grade, score, persona, category scores, and the holdings snapshot used to produce it — is stored in our database tied to your account so you can view your history and compare over time. This only happens when you explicitly click Save; nothing is saved automatically. You can delete any saved grade yourself from the History page at any time, or email us to have your account and all associated data deleted.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand overall traffic (for example, how many people visit or grade a portfolio). If enabled, this collects non-identifying usage data and never your portfolio contents. REPLACE-OR-REMOVE this section to match the analytics tool you actually use.

Advertising

If we display ads (for example, Google AdSense), third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. REPLACE-OR-REMOVE this section if you are not running ads yet, and add a cookie-consent banner if you have visitors in regions that require one.

Data sharing & children

We do not sell your personal information. Payments (the $1 Deep Roast and the Save & Compare subscription) are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details, only your subscription status. Account and saved-grade data is stored with Supabase. Neither is used for anything beyond running the Service. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
